Remote Switch

XT/RS

Product overview

Do you sometimes wish you had an extra pair of hands when testing? A USB user programmable Remote Switch is now available which is able to replicate a key switch combination. This could, for example, provide a replacement for the Cntrl Q keystroke combination that is commonly used to start a test and the action be performed by pressing down on the switch instead. It may be that your PC is not situated adjacent to your Texture Analyser and you wish to commence the test whilst standing next to your Texture Analyser. This would be particularly useful if you are wishing to closely observe the start of your test rather than turning or moving away to start the test at your PC keyboard. This possibility would ordinarily require an extra pair of hands. However, the switch is simply connected to your PC via a USB port and the user is able to choose the keystroke combination they wish the switch to replaceĀ  by setting small switches inside. Alternatively, the switch may act as your event marker when testing brittle materials or replace any of your defined shortcut keys within Exponent Connect software. Remote Switch pressing can be performed up to 2.5m away from your PC.

As this switch connects to your PC it is suitable for operation with all Texture Analyser models and software packages.

Chemical compatibility

Stable Micro Systems probes and attachments are commonly made from four materials: anodised aluminium (AA6082 T6), stainless steel (316 T), Delrin (acetyl copolymer) and Perspex (polycarbonate).

In general use, probes and attachments made from these materials will be suitable for testing food products and inert non-food materials.

The four materials listed above are not universally resistant to all types of chemicals and as such the compatibility of the probe/attachment material with the product (to be tested) must be established to prevent damage to the probes and attachments. If the compatibility of the product with the probe is unknown to the customer then the chemical information about the product (Material Safety Data Sheet or Product Data Sheet) should be submitted to Stable Micro Systems. Stable Micro Systems will then assess the suitability of the probe/attachment material for use with the product and advise accordingly. If this advice is not sought then Stable Micro Systems will not accept liability for probes/attachments damaged by chemical attack from the product being tested.
